GAME MENU
This menu controls the basic functions of the game. There are six preference
options, plus a toggle for detailed and simple menu options. The six prefer-
ence options are:
• Simple\Detailed menu toggle
• Preferences
• Warning Preferences
• Advanced Preferences
• Automation Preferences
• Audio/Visual Preferences
• Map Display Preferences
The various preference menus are discussed in detail in Appendix 3, beginning
on p. 196. The Simple\Detailed menu toggle controls the level of detail in your
Map, Action and Terraform menus. Simple menus show only the basic com-
mands needed to play the game. Detailed menus offer many functions for
advanced users.
SAVE GAME
Allows you to create a permanent, named saved game (as opposed to auto-
saves—see Automatic Saves, p. 30).
When you select this option you are prompted to provide a name for your
saved game.
LOAD GAME
Allows you to select a saved game (either named or autosaved) to replace the
current game.
