Assessing background noise
With this window displayed, SmartReader “hears” background electrical
noise like that generated by computers, mobile phones, and electrical
generators for example, in the frequency band that the Electronic ID tags
work in. This background noise can interfere with the reading of the
Electronic ID tags.
1. Press . The following window is displayed:
Note: While this window is displayed, the SmartReader will not read
Electronic ID tags.
The horizontal scale shows approximately 2 minutes viewing of the
background noise.
The vertical scale shows the level of background noise. The higher up
the scale the more background noise and the more likely the tag read
range will be reduced.
2. If the background noise level is high, try turning off sources of electrical
noise and re-test.
