Acrylex 400 Multisurface Roof Primer is a water-based,
medium viscosity, high-quality acrylic primer. It is
flexible and highly durable, and provides protection
against blistering. Acrylex 400 Primer is effective
in enhancing adhesion over metal substrates and
providing protection against rust and corrosion. Over
concrete and masonry, Acrylex 400 Primer also helps
provides alkali protection.
USES: Acrylex 400 Multisurface Roof Primer can be used
on a wide variety of properly prepared surfaces, including
steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, previously painted
surfaces, concrete masonry, and brick.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION: Substrate must be clean,
completely dry, and free from any foreign matter.
Pressure-wash to remove all dust and debris, and
allow to dry. Check for any damaged roof membranes,
including all flashings and penetrations, and repair
before coating application commences.
MIXING: Acrylex 400 Multisurface Roof Primer is
a ready-to-use material; however, some settling of
material may have occurred during shipment and
storage. For one-gallon (3.79 L) cans, mix prior to use
with a power mixer using a blade capable of uniformly
mixing the entire container. Use only non-sparking,
explosion-proof mixers. Containers that have been
stored for any length of time may develop a skin/film
on top of the primer, which should be removed prior to
mixing. Do not incorporate air into the product.
APPLICATION: Acrylex 400 Multisurface Roof Primer
may be applied by brush, roller, or airless sprayer. For

com. Apply evenly at a rate of 0.33 – 0.5 gal./100 ft²
(1.34 – 2.04 L/10 m²) per coat. One coat is usually
sufficient for priming most surfaces; however, a
second coat may be required on porous surfaces. Total
coverage is dependent upon the substrate. Smooth
substrates may require less priming, while rough or
porous substrates may require more priming. See gaf.

APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: Apply at air temperature
of 50°F (10°C) and rising. Product should be applied
when surface temperature is between 50°F – 110°F
(10°C – 43.3°C). For temperature ranges outside

CLEANUP: Use water and soap to thoroughly flush
equipment. If coating has hardened, clean with solvent.
Purge the water from the system using solvents.
STORAGE & HANDLING: Store material in a clean and
well-ventilated area at 50°F – 90°F (10°C – 32.2°C).
Storage for continued periods outside this temperature
range may shorten shelf life. Keep containers covered
when not in use. Do NOT allow primer to freeze.
SHELF LIFE: 18 months from date of manufacture in
unopened containers, if stored properly.
IMPORTANT: Repair leaks promptly to avoid adverse
effects, including mold growth.
• Do NOT apply on wet substrates.
• Do NOT heat container.
• Do NOT attempt to thin product.
• Do NOT apply if rain, dew, fog, heavy moisture
condensation, or freezing temperatures are in the
24-hour forecast.

El Imprimador de techo multisuperficie Acrylex 400 es

Acrylex 400 puede aplicarse con brocha, rodillo o aspersor

manera uniforme a razón de 0.33 a 0.5 galones/
100 pies² (1.34 a 2.04 l/10 m²) por capa. Una capa

capa en superficies porosas. La cobertura total depende

en un área limpia y bien ventilada a 50°F – 90°F (10°C
– 32°C). Almacenar este producto durante períodos
continuados fuera de este rango de temperatura puede
acortar su vida útil. Mantener los recipientes tapados
cuando no estén en uso. NO dejar que el revestimiento
se congele.
VIDA ÚTIL: 18 meses a partir de la fecha de fabricación en
recipientes cerrados, si se almacena de manera adecuada.
IMPORTANTE: Repara las goteras inmediatamente para
evitar efectos adversos, inclusive la proliferación de moho.
• NO aplicar sobre sustratos húmedos.
