RF exposure regulation (SAR)
Th is mod e l phone m eets the go vern ment’s requirements for
exposure to rad i o waves. Thi s phone is designed and
manufactured not to exceed th e emission limits for expo- sure to
radio frequen c y (RF) energy set b y the Fede ral Communications
Comm ission of th e U.S. Governm e nt.
Th e exposure stan dard for wireless mobile pho nes emp l oys a
uni t of measuremen t known as the Specific Absorption Rate,
or SAR. The SAR lim it set by th e FCC
is 1. 6W/k g.
Tests for SAR are cond ucted using standard operatin g
posi
tions accepted by the FCC with the phone transmit- ting at
its highest certified po wer level in al l tested fre- qu ency band s.
Alth ough th e SAR is d e termined at the highest certified power
level, the actual SAR level of the phone while operating can be
well below the maximum value. This is because the phone is
designed to operate
at multiple power levels so as to use only the power
required to reach the network.
In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station
antenna,
th e lower the po wer output.Th e high est SAR value for
the model phone as reported to the FCC when tested for use
at the ear is 0.091 W/kg and when worn on the body, as
d e sc rib e d in this user gu ide, is 0.218 W/ kg. ( Bod y -w orn

While there may be differences between the SAR levels of
variou s p hones and at variou s po sition s, they all meet
the government requirement.
