To connect to the Internet, follow these steps:
1. Connect the PWG-5 00 to your PC using a USB
cable. Make sure that the device drivers have been
installed correctly. See “I nstalling the USB drivers
and WI M” on page 56.
2. Set up a dial-up n e two r k connection as follo ws:
– C lick the St ar t bu tt on on t h e tas k bar and th en
select Settings | Netw ork and Dial-up Connec-
tion s .
– D ouble-click the Make New Connection icon. The
N e two r k Co nnection Wizard guides you throu gh
the steps fo r settin g up a dial-up co n- nection.
– S el ect the correct port du ring the set-up pro- cess.
To see the port, open the Device Man- ager under
System on your PC. Th e COM po rt numb e r
appears under th e Ports item.
– Enter yo ur User name and Passwor d to con- nect
to the Dial-up service. Consult your local ser vice
pr ov ider f o r this information.
3. Wh en th e dial-up co nnection h a s been set up , dou - ble-
click
the connection icon to dial into the net- work and
access the Internet.
Connecting to a PDA
The PWG- 500 can be used along with B l uetooth enabl e d
devices ( like PDAs) that conform to the Serial and Dial-
up Networking profile s. When the PWG-500 i n terface s with
the PDA, you can use it to make and receive calls, browse
the Internet, chat using MSN, and send SMS
messages. It is recommended that the di stance between
the PWG-500 a nd the other Bluetooth device be less
then 10 meters away. Make sure that there are no other
devices
between these two devices that may i n terfere with
tra nsmission and reception.
