RAID1isgreatforprotectingandsecuringdata,makingitidealforsensitivedata,butit
operatesatthespeedofasingledrive.InRAID1,thearraywillbeat50percentofitstotal
capacityasthesamedataiswrittenormirroredtobothdrivessimultaneously.

JBODmodeisgreatformaximumcapacityutilizationwithoutfearoflosingallyourdata,
asinthecaseofRAID0,buttheyeachoperateatthespeedofasingledrive.

TheG-TechnologyRAIDConguratorisusedtochangetheRAIDlevelofyourG-RAIDUSB.To
congureG-RAIDUSB,itwillneedtobetheonlydeviceconnectedtoyourcomputer.
TheRAIDConguratorutilityisavailablefordownloadfromtheG-Technologywebsiteat
g-technology.com/support.
OnceyouhavedownloadedtheRAIDCongurator,youshouldlaunchitdirectlyfromthe
mounteddiskimage.
Congure the RAID Mode for Mac
YoucaneasilycongureG-RAIDUSB’sRAIDmodewiththefollowingsteps.
Important Note: Changing the RAID level will erase all data on the drive. Be sure
all of the data and les you want to save are backed up to separate media.
1. LaunchtheG-TechnologyRAIDCongurationutility.Adialogwindowwillaskyouto
disconnectallotherexternalharddisksfromyourcomputer.Thisisimportanttoensurethat
theconguratordoesnotaectothereSATA,FireWireorUSBdevicesonyoursystem.
2. ClicktheContinuebutton.Awindowwillappeartellingyouthattheutilityissearchingfor
yourG-RAIDUSB.
