Virtual numeric keypad
NumerickeypadVirtualnumericke ypadNumLock
LIFEBOOK E5411 has a virtual number pad, whereas LIFEBOOK
E5511 has a separate num ber pad.
To provide the convenience of a numeric keypad, your keyboard is equipped with a virtual
numeric keypad. Th e special keys of the virtual nu m eric keypad are recognisable by the numbers
and symbols printed in the upper right corner of e ach key. If you have s witched on the virtual
numeric keypad, you c an output the characters shown on the upper right of the keys.
The keyboard layout shown below may differ from your actual device.
1 = Valid characters when the
Num
key is not act ivated
2 = Valid characters when the
Num
keyisactivated

Default settings
With de fault settings, each button must be pressed in combination with
Fn
in order
to enter the characters of the v irtual numeric keypad.
In the BIOS setup utility, y ou can enable th e function that a llows you to en ter the
characters of the virtual numeric keypad d irectly without
Fn
.
► To d o s o, i n t he Advanced-Keyboard Features menu select On or Off instead of On/Pa d lock Off.
With W i ndows, the Num Lock function can still be switched on an d off using the
Num key regardless of whether On or
Off
is set in the BIOS.
