Symbol Mode Indicator state Remarks
ON mode Green Battery charge is between 50% and
100%.
Idle mode
Amber Battery charge is between 13% and 49%.
Red Battery charge is between 0% and 12%.
Red, flashing There is a battery error.
Suspend-to-RAM
mode
Green, slow flashing Battery charge is between 50% and 100%.
Amber, slow flashing Battery charge is between 13% and 49%.
Red, slow flashing Battery charge is between 0% and 12%.
Hibernate mode
with mains

OFF mode
Off Either the battery is not installed, the device
is not switched on, or the device is in
hibernate mode.
Hibernate mode
without mains
adapter
Off If battery is installed when power is off,
indicator flashes amber for 4 seconds to
detect battery. Battery status is displayed
for five seconds after that.
ON mode
Idle mode
Green or flashing

Hard disk drive is being accessed.
