TPM can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS Setup. The requirement for this is that you have
assigned at least the supervisor password (see "
Secur ity functions", Page 55).
Enabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a supervisor password, see "Security functions", Page 55.
C all up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Cong uratio n eld and press the Enter key.
Select Enabled to activate the Intel® PTT.
Select the Exit Saving Changes option in the Exit menu.
Press the Enter k ey and select Ye s .
The Tablet PC restarts and the Intel® PTT is switched on after the reboot.
Once you have activated the Intel® PTT, you can clear TPM from the operating system. By
clearing TPM, all secret keys (e.g., S RK - Storage Root Keys, AIK - Attestation Identity Keys
etc.) genera ted by the operating system or applications are deleted. Note that you will then no
longer be able to a ccess the data you have encrypted with the keys based on TPM.
Disabling TPM
Requirement: You have set a supervisor password, see "Security functions", Page 55.
Call up the BIO
S Setup and select the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Cong uratio n eld and press the Enter key.
Select Disab
led to deactivate the Intel® PTT.
From the Exit menu, choose t he option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the En
ter key and select Yes.
The Tablet PC is rebooted and the Intel® PTT is switched off after the reboot.
