Security functions
Trusted Platform Module - TPM (configuration
dependent)
TPMTrustedP la tformModule
To use the TPM, you must enable the TPM in the BIOS Setup be fore the software is
installed. The re quirement fo r this is that you have assigned at least the supervisor
password (see "
Secur ity functions", Page 6 6).
Enabling TPM
• Requirement: You have assigned a s upervisor password (see "Security functions", Page 66).
► C all BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
► Mark the TPM Security Chip Se ttin g field and press the Enter key.
► Select the entry Enab led to enable the TPM
Once you have enabled the TPM the Clear Security Chip menu item ap pears.
You c an clear the holder in the T PM using Clear Security Chip.WithEnabled,
all secret keys (e.g. SRK - Storage Root Keys, AIK - Attestation Identity Keys
etc.) generated by applications are deleted.
Take note that you can then n o longe r access the data you have
encrypted on the holder-based keys!
► From the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
► Press the Enter key and select Yes.
The Tablet PC restarts and the TPM is enabled after the reboot.
Disabling TP

• Requirement: You have assigned a s upervisor password (see "Security functions", Page 66).
► Call BIOS Se
tup and select the Security menu.
► Mark the TPM Security Chip Se ttin g field and press the Enter key.
► Select the
entry Disabled to disable the TPM.
► From the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
► Press the
Enter key and select Yes.
The Tablet PC restarts and th e TPM is disabled.
