RECOVER YOUR SYSTEM WHEN THE HARD
DRIVE IS NOT BOOTABLE
Restore the Recovery Image for Full Hard Drive
Follow the steps in the “Recovering your Recove ry Image using Recovery and Utility
(for new hard drive or non-bootable hard drive)” section.
Utility tool: If applicable for your region, the Utility tool contains two options:
Hard Disk Data Delete and Partition Creation.
The Hard Disk D ata Delete utility is used to delete all data on the hard disk
and preven t the data from being reused.
NOTE: Do not use the Hard Disk Da ta Delete utility unless you are absolutely certain
that you want to erase your entire hard disk, including all partitions.
The Hard Data Disk Delete function (HDDD) needs the AC po w er supply connected. When running
HDDD from the hidden partition, you should connect the AC cable. When running HDDD from a
Bootable Disk, a U SB DVD drive needs to be connected. Be sure and switch from the USB device
cable to the AC cable, w hen HDDD displays t he guidance reminding you of the AC connection.
To delete hard disk data:
1. Click the Hard Disk Data Delete button. The progress bar appears, followed by the EULA screen.
2. Agree to the EULA and click Next.
3. Choose the hard disk from which the data should be deleted in the list of hard disks and click Next.
The Partition Creation utility is used to change the C: and D: drive partition sizes.
To run this utility: (This i s not an option when using Windows 7.)
1. Click the Partition Creation button.
2. A progress bar appears, followed by the EULA screen. Agree to the EULA.
3. On the Rec overy Tool - Partition Creation scre en, move the slider to set d isk size, and then click OK.
4. Click Yes in the Partition Creation confirmation dialog.
WARNING: It is highly recommended that you send your product to Fujitsu
Service to replace a hard drive. A mista ke c ould possibly destroy your
computer, your n ew hard drive or both .
