PRIMERGY BladeFrame is the platform to set up an application-
independent and service-oriented IT infrastructure. The Processing
Area Network (PAN) combines stateless servers (pBlades) with
unique virtualization and management software, thus reducing the
existing infrastructure complexity and providing a dynamic, high-
availability system.
PRIMERGY BladeFrame uses the PAN architecture to manage a pool
of computing, storage and network resources which can be
dynamically allocated depending on business requirements. The PAN
Manager is the central instance for configuring, managing and
monitoring both the physical as well as virtual servers. With the PAN
Manager a server is no longer a device with a defined configuration,
operating system and application, but a software-based definition that
can be dynamically assigned as needed. The PAN architecture thus
expands the benefits of server virtualization and provides an
integrated concept for high-availability (N+1 failover) and disaster
recovery. The result is considerable savings in operational and total
costs.
