8.2.1 Opening the server and identifying the defective
CSS component
8.2.1.1 Opening the server
V CAUTION!
The server can be seriously damaged if it is opened without authorization
or if repairs are attempted by untrained personnel.
It is essential to observe the safety instructions in chapter "Important
information" on page 27.
V CAUTION!
● Before removing or attaching covers, turn off the server, all peripheral
devices,and any other connected devices. Also unplug all power
cables from the outlet. Failure todo so can cause electric shock.
● The housing cover must be replaced as soon as possible for
purposes of cooling, to comply with EMC regulations (regulations
regarding electromagnetic compatibility) and to prevent fires. The
housing cover must not remain open for longer than 5 minutes.
V CAUTION (for rack model)!
● Use the anti-tilt plate to prevent the rack from tipping when installing
the rack. Pulling the server out of the rack without having installed the
anti-tilt plate may cause the rack to tip over.
● Be careful not to pinch fingers or clothes when sliding out the server
or pushing it back. Failure to do so may cause injury.
