ScanSnap Cloud
ScanSnap Cloud introduces a new, innovative way of scanning
documents with your ScanSnap iX500 or iX100 directly to
a publically available cloud service. There is no need to be
connected to a computer or mobile device.
New! Now featuring searchable PDFs.
ScanSnap Cloud makes collecting printed documents in cloud storage
and management systems easier than ever before. Simply press
the Scan button, or use your smartphone camera. ScanSnap Cloud
automatically separates (classies) users´ data into documents,
receipts, business cards and photos - then delivers them directly to
your favourite cloud service for permanent access. For backup reasons
ScanSnap Cloud keeps a copy of the documents for two weeks.
ScanSnap Cloud works in conjunction with Box, Dropbox, Evernote,
Expensify, Google Drive, Google Photos, OneDrive, Shoeboxed,
Concur Express, QuickBooks Online, and connections to more services
are constantly being added.
It is important to understand that ScanSnap Cloud in itself is not a
cloud storage system. It is, however a cloud based image processor
and enhancement tool paired with the capability of automatically
classifying scanned input into four essential types of content as
document, photo, business card and receipt, routing each type into
different, dedicated cloud services.
If you are targeting a cloud storage space as your document
repository, then ScanSnap Cloud gives you front door access. But
even switching between direct cloud upload and local PC, connected
use of ScanSnap iX100 and iX500 is an instantly available option.
SCANSNAP CLOUD SIMPLY WORKS
Once set up and congured, you can route everything into one
single cloud space. Your ScanSnap iX500 or iX100 is connected to
your WiFi router, which in turn is connected to the internet. Insert
a set of documents into the scanner’s automatic document feeder
(ADF) and off goes the data stream directly into ScanSnap Cloud.
ScanSnap talks to ScanSnap Cloud and hands over the new stack of
document data. ScanSnap Cloud now intelligently identies the type
of document within the stack and routes everything into the same
3rd party cloud service, but if you wish, into different folders.
If you are using different cloud services e.g. for documents and
receipts, you can preselect different cloud service destinations
for these content types. This way when you scan a receipt, it goes
straight into your travel expense cloud service whilst your documents
might be sent directly to your Dropbox account.
THREE STEPS TO GET READY FOR USING SCANSNAP CLOUD:
First, download and install the mobile app or the small application
for Windows and Mac devices.
Secondly, you will be prompted to create your ScanSnap Cloud
account and you will be guided through setting up your ScanSnap
iX500 or iX100 to directly connect to your WiFi network.
And your third step is conguring how ScanSnap Cloud treats your
input. This is the step within which you decide where your photos,
documents, business cards and receipts should be sent to after
ScanSnap Cloud has enhanced the images and classied the content.
It is also the point in time when you can decide how content identied
as ‘document’ is supposed to be named. ScanSnap Cloud supports
automatic le naming by adding date and time information. You can
also select that ScanSnap Cloud will try to extract a meaningful title
from the text of the document. And if that document contains a date,
this can also be picked up and added to the le name.
