Webcam
Webcam
Depending on th e configuration, your device may include a webcam
with integrated microphone.
Depending on the software u
sed, you can use your webcam to take pictures,
record video clips or take p
art in w eb chats.
The webcam has its own stat
us indicator. The indicato r lights up when the webcam is active.
• The picture quality depe
nds on the lighting conditions and the software being used.
• You can only operate the w ebcam with a particular application (e.g. an Internet telephony
program or a v ideo conferencing program which supports a webcam).
• When using the webcam, t
he notebook base must not wobble.
• The webcam a utomatically adjusts itself to the current light level. For this reason
the LCD display may flicker while the light level is adjusted.

can be found in the help function of the program using the webcam.
Rechargeable battery

During use as a portable, the notebook runs on its built-in battery. You can increase
the service life of th e battery by ca ring for the battery properly. The average battery
service life is around 500 charge/discharge cycles.
You can ext end the battery service life by taking advantage of the available energy saving functions.
Charging, caring for and maintaining the battery

k battery can only be charged if the ambient temperature is between
5°C / 41°F an
d a ma ximum of 35°C / 95°F.
You can char
ge the battery by connecting the notebook to th e AC adapte r
(see "
Conn
ecting the AC adapter", Page 17).
Be aware th
at the battery will not charge when the battery charge level is between
90% and 10
0%. If the battery charge level is less than 90% and the AC adapter
is connec
ted, the battery charges up to 100%.
When the
battery charge level is low, a message fro m the operating system is displayed.
If you do
not connect th e AC adapter within five minutes of t he message described
above, y
our noteboo k will automatically switch off.
