Setting up the port replicator
Select a suitable location for the Port Replicator before setting it up.
Follow the instructions below when doing so:
• Never place the port replicator on a soft surface (e.g. carpeting, uph olstered furniture, bed).
This can block the air vents of the notebook and cause overheating and damage.
• Place the port replicator on a sta ble, flat and non-slip surface. Please note that the
port re plicator’s rubber feet may mark certain types of surface.
• Never place the port replicator and the mains adapter on a heat-sensitive surface.
• Do n ot expose the port replicator to extreme environmental conditions.
Protect the port replicator from dust, humidity and heat.
Connecting the notebook to the Port Replicator
The mains adapter must be connected to the Port Replicator when the
notebook is connected to the Port Replicator.
We recommend that the notebook is not operated with the LCD screen closed when
the notebook is connected to the Port Replicator. Th e resulting overheating can
cause reduced performance and increased activity of the integrated fan.
