The performance and reliability of the LTO tape drive meet current and future requirements for a state-of-the-art backup drive. The successful
path taken in the tape storage sector is continued with the fourth generation of the Linear Tape Open (LTO) standardized drive technology.
The drive operates at a speed of 80 Mbyte/s and processes ½-inch cartridges with a storage capacity of 800 GB (native capacity). A high level
of data integrity is guaranteed thanks to magneto-resistive (MR) heads, optimal tape guidance, and a redundantly configured servo system.
Specially developed control elements and an easy-to-use menu system guarantee problem-free operation of the MTC drive. An easy-to-read
LCD display continuously shows the status of the drive and media during operation
The desktop tape drive is therefore an entry-level component into the LTO-4 technology and is particularly suitable for backup and time-critical
applications that require rapid data transfer. The tape drive can be attached to various open system servers via the SAS interface.
