◆ FCCRFExposureInformation
ThistabletdevicemeetstheU.S.Government's
requirementsforexposuretoradiowaves.This
tabletdevicecontainsaradiotransmitterand
receiver.Thistabletdeviceisdesignedand
manufacturednottoexceedtheemissionlimitsfor
exposuretoradiofrequency(RF)energyassetby
theFCCoftheU.S.Government.Theselimitsare
partofcomprehensiveguidelinesandestablish
permittedlevelsofRFenergyforthegeneral
population.Theguidelinesarebasedonstandards
thatweredevelopedbyindependentscientific
organizationsthroughperiodicandthorough
evaluationofscientificstudies.
Theexposurestandardforwirelesstabletdevice
employsaunitofmeasurementknownasthe
SpecificAbsorptionRate(SAR).TheSARlimitset
bytheFCCis1.6W/kg.TestsforSARare
conductedusingstandardoperatingpositionsas
acceptedbytheFCCwiththedevicetransmitting
atitshighestcertifiedpowerlevelinalltested
frequencybands.AlthoughtheSARisdetermined
atthehighestcertifiedpowerlevel,theactualSAR
levelofthedevicewhileoperatingcanbewellbelow
themaximumvalue.Thisisbecausethedeviceis
designedtooperateatmultiplepowerlevelssoas
touseonlythepowerrequiredtoreachthenetwork.
Ingeneral,thecloseryouaretoawirelessbase
stationantenna,thelowerthepoweroutputlevelof
thedevice.
Beforeatabletmodelisavailableforsaletothe
public,itmustbetestedandcertifiedtoproveto
theFCCthatitdoesnotexceedthelimit
establishedbytheU.S.government-adopted
requirementforsafeexposure.Thetestsare
performedonpositionandlocations(forexample,
wornonthebody)asrequiredbyFCCforeach
model.ThehighestSARvalueforthistabletdevice
asreportedtotheFCC,whenwornonthebody,is

WhiletheremaybedifferencesbetweentheSAR
levelsatvariouspositions,theyallmeettheU.S.

allreportedSARlevelsevaluatedasincompliance
withtheFCCRFexposureguidelines.SAR
