Installing/removing a SmartCard reader (optional)
In systems equipped with a SmartCard reader, access can be restricted to those
users who have a corresponding SmartCard.
Installing th e SmartCard read

► Break out the web at th e SmartCa
rd opening on the front cover.

► Remove the drive cage (see "Removing
the drive cage", Page 34)
► Slide the SmartCard reader int
othe
bay provided f or it (1) and secu
re it
with the two screws (2).
► Make sure that the SmartCard reader
is also between the two brackets.
Otherwise, you will not be able to insert
the SmartCard from o utside.
► Connect the cable for the SmartCard reader to the mainboard and the SmartCard
reader. R efe r to the manual for the mainboard.
► In stall the drive cage a
gain (see "
Installing the drive cage", Page 35).
► C lose the casing (see "
Closing t he casing", Page 30).
Removing the SmartCard reader

► Remove the drive cage (see "Removing
the drive cage", Page 34)
► Disconnect the SmartCard connector
from the mainboard. Refer to the
manual for the mainboard.
► Loosen the screws (1).
► Pull the SmartCard reader out of the bay (2).
► Install the drive cage again (see "
Install ing
the drive cage", Pa ge 35
► Close the casing (see "C losing the
casing", Page 30).
