Security functions
Trusted Platform Module - TPM (device dependent)
TPMTrustedPlatfor mModule
To use the TPM, you must enable the TPM in the BIOS Setu p before the software i s
installed. The requirement for this is that you ha ve assigned at least the supervisor
HDD password (see "
Securit y functions", Page 57).
Enabling TPM
Requirement: You have assigned a supervisor password (see "Security functi ons", Page 57 ).
Call BIOS Setup and sele
ct the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Setting eld and press the Enter key.
Select the entry Enabl
ed to enable the TPM
Once you have enabled the TPM the Clear Security Chip menu item appears.
You ca n clear the hold
er in the TPM using Cl ear Security Chip.WithEnabled,
all secret keys (e.g
. SRK - Storage Root Keys, AIK - Attestation Identity Keys
etc.) generated by
applications are deleted.

Select the Exit Sa
ving Changes option in the Exit menu.
Press the Enter key and select Ye s.

Disabling TPM
Requirement: You have assigned a supervisor password (see "Security functi ons", Page 57 ).
Call BIOS Setup and select the Security me nu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip Setting eld and press the Enter key.
Select the entry Disabled to disable the TPM.
From the Exit menu, choose the optio n Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter key and select Ye s.
The Tablet PC is rebooted and the TPM is disab led.
