Battery in dicator no longer appears in status indicator panel

No battery installed or no contact betw een
notebook and battery.
► Check whether the battery is installed
correctly in its compartmen t.
or
► Charge the battery.
► If the operating time of the battery life is
extremely short, the battery is probably
too old. Replace battery if necessary.
The battery discharges too quickly

The battery is either too hot or too cold. In this
case the battery indicator flashes.
► Bring the noteboo k up/down to a normal
temperature again.
► If the operating time of the battery life is
extremely short, the battery is probably too
old. Replace battery if necessary.
You may have an application running that
consumes a great deal of power due to frequent
accessing o f the hard disk or optical drive.
► Use the mains adapter as frequently as
possible.
The maximum brightness may have been set
for the screen.
► Set the screen slightly darker with the
key combination for Decreasing the screen
brightness in order to reduce the amount of
power being drawn.
The energy-saving functio
ns have been
deactivated.
Windows XP:
► Check the settings in the BIOS Setup (in the
Power menu) and under Windows (Start -
(Settings) - Control Panel - Power Options)and
adjust the parameters.
Windows Vista:
► Check the settings in the BIOS Setup (in the
Power menu) and under Windows (Start -
(Settings) - Control Panel – Mobile PC - Power
Options), and adjust the parameters.
