Standby mode
StandbymodeON/OFF butto n
► Press the O N/O FF butto n to switch the Standby mode on and off.
Windows XP:
You can configure the ON/OFF button under Start –(Settings) - Control Panel -
Performance and Maintenance - Power Options - Advanced.
Windows Vista:
You c an configure the ON /OF F switch under Start symbol - (Settings) - Control
Panel - Mobile PC - Power Options - A dvanced.
In the Standby/Suspend-to-DRAM
mode the content of you r main memory is saved by continuing
to supply the main m emory with pow
er, while the processor, monitor, hard disk and other internal
components are switched off. Thi
s mode is activated whenever you press the ON/OFF butto n.
Saving is also triggered when yo
u d o not make an entry on your notebook for a certa in time. When
you resume work, your noteboo
k returns to the place at which you discontinued working.

d LAN/Modem, a PC-LAN card or a PC
modem card , please be aware t
hat switching over to Standby mode can
lead to an interruption in t
he network connection .

f if you press the ON/OFF button for more than 4 seconds.
