Energy saving functions
Energysaving functions:
The notebook uses less energy whe n th e available ene rgy s aving functions are used. You
will then be able to work for longer before having to recharge the battery.
Windows XP:
You can set the power-management features for your notebook under Start -
(Settings) - Control Panel - Power Op tions.
Windows Vista:
You can set the p ower-management features for your notebook und er Start
- Control Panel - Mobile PC - Power Options.

your operating system help files.
When you close the notebook with the On/Off button (press and hold for at least 4
seconds), this can result in loss of data. Always shut the operating system do wn properly.
When you are finished working with your notebook we advise you to c ome out
of an energy saving mode and then turn off as normal.
If the notebook is in an energy-saving mode:
• Do not connect any external de vices.
• Do not disconn ect any external devices.
• Do not disconnect the notebook from the Port Replicator.
• Do not attempt to switch the noteb ook on if the built-in battery is flat.
• Do not add or remove an ExpressCard.
• Do not replace or remove the battery.
