Setting the supervisor and user password
Call up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
Select the Set Supervisor Password eld and press the Enter key.
With Enter new Password: you are asked to enter a p assword.
Enter the passw ord and press the Enter key.
Conrm new Password then appears and you are asked to con rm the password.
Enter the password again and press the Enter key.
Setup Notice: Changes have b ee n saved is displayed to conrm that the
new password has been saved.
To assign th e user password, select the eld Set User Password and proceed
exactly as when conguring the supe rvisor pa ssword.
You can exit the BIOS Setup once you have nished changing the settin gs.
From the Exit menu, choose the op tion Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter key and select Yes.
The notebook is rebooted and the new password becomes effective. If you now want to
open the BIOS-Setup, you must rst enter your supervisor or user password. Please note
that you only have access to a few BIOS settings with the user password.
Changing the supervisor or use r password
You can only change the supervisor password whe n you have logged into
the BIOS Setup with the supervisor password.
Call up the BIOS Setup again and s
elect the Security menu.
Highlight the Set Supervisor Password or Set User Password eld and press the Enter key.
Enter your current su pervisor or
user password.
Enter the new supervisor or user password.
Conrm new Password requires you
to conrm the password.
Enter the password again and press the Enter key.
