Working with the notebook

HotKey buttons
Your notebook is equipped with four configurable HotKey buttons (see chapter "Notebook views ",
Number 10). You can start frequently required applications by pressing a single key.
1 = Internet (pre-set)
With this key you can start the standard internet browser for your system.
2 = Search programme (preset)
With this button you start the search programme from Microsoft.
3 = Favourites (preset)
With this button you can start the Favourites function in the Explorer.
4 = E-mail (pre-set)
Use this key to start the standard e-mail programme for your system.

The programme with which you can configure the buttons is contained on the
"Drivers & Utilities" CD included with the notebook.
The HotKey buttons can be blocked to prevent accidental pressing (see chapter
"Notebook views ", Number 12).
Touchpad and touchpad buttons

Keep the touchpad clean, protect it from dirt, liquids, and grease.
Do not use the touchpad if your fingers are dirty.
Do not rest heavy objects (e.g. books) on the touchpad or the touchpad buttons.
The touchpad (see chapter "Notebook views", Number 5) enables you to move the mouse pointer
on the screen.
The touchpad buttons (see chapter "Notebook views", Number 6) allow the selection and execution
of commands. They correspond to the buttons on a conventional mouse.
With the touchpad scroll buttons (see chapter "Notebook views", Number 4) you can scroll.
Moving the pointer
Ê Move your finger on the touchpad.
The pointer will move accordingly.
Selecting an item
Ê Move the pointer to the item you wish to select.
Ê Tap the touchpad once or press the left button once.
The item will be selected.
