Security codes used on your FOMA terminal
Some functions for convenient use of your FOMA terminal require
security codes. In addition to the password for locking your FOMA
terminal, there are also network security codes, for example, for using
your FOMA terminal in network services. Use security codes selectively
for specific individual applications to make the most of your FOMA
terminal.
■
Precautions for various security codes
・
Do not use easily guessed numbers for security codes to be set
such as "birthday", "part of a phone number", "address or room
number", or simple numbers and number sequences such as "1111"
or "1234". Also, keep a separate note of preset security codes in
case you forget them.
・
Take sufficient care to keep security codes private. DOCOMO is not
liable for any loss if security codes are found out and improperly
used by others.
・
If you forget your security codes, you must bring your identification
(driver's license, etc.) as proof of your being the actual subscriber,
your FOMA terminal and docomo UIM card to a docomo shop. For
details, contact "docomo Information Center" on the last page of this
manual.
・
The PUK (PIN Unlock Key) is noted in the subscription application
form (customer copy) you received at the time of subscription at a
docomo shop. If you made a subscription outside a docomo shop,
you must bring your identification (driver's license, etc.) as proof of
your being the actual subscriber, your FOMA terminal and docomo
UIM card to a docomo shop, or contact "docomo Information Center"
on the last page of this manual.

Network security code
The network security code is the 4-digit code required for confirming the
subscriber's identity when receiving an order at a docomo shop or
"docomo Information Center", or for accessing various network services.
You can set any code at the time of subscription, and can change the
code yourself.
For those with a "docomo ID/password" from the general support site
"My docomo"* ex
clusively for PCs, the registration procedure for a new
network security code is available from a PC.
* For details on "My docomo", see the page just before the last page of this
manual.
PIN1 code/PIN2 code
Two security codes, PIN1 code and PIN2, can be set to a docomo UIM
card. These security codes are set to "0000" by default at the time of
subscription, but you can change the codes yourself (P. 6
4).
The PIN1 code is a 4- to 8-digit security code that is entered for user
recognition when the docomo UIM card is inserted into your FOMA
terminal or for each time that your FOMA terminal is turned on to
prevent unauthorized use by a third party.
By entering the PIN1 code, you can make outgoing calls, receive
incoming calls and operate your FOMA terminal.
The PIN2 code is a 4- to 8-digit security
code that is used, for example,
for applying for issue of user certificates.
●
When swapping with a docomo UIM card that has been used in
another FOMA terminal, use the previously set PIN1/PIN2 code. The
setting is "0000" if it has not been changed.
●
If you enter the wrong PIN1/PIN2 code three times consecutively, the
code will be locked and cannot be used. If this happens, unlock it with
"PUK"
(PIN Unlock Key).
PUK (PIN Unlock Key)
PUK (PIN Unlock Key) is an 8-digit number used to disable the PIN1
and PIN2 code locks. You cannot change the PUK yourself.
●
If you enter the wrong PUK ten times consecutively, the docomo UIM
card will be locked. If this happens, contact a docomo shop.
