Before Using the FOMA Terminal
Pinching
Spread two fingers (pinch out) on screen to zoom in and bring your two
fingers together (pinch in) to zoom out when a web page or still picture,
for example, is displayed.
Switching the portrait/landscape display mode
You can switch the landscape/portrait screen display mode by changing
how you hold your FOMA terminal, horizontally or vertically.
Note

The screen display mode sometimes cannot be switched even by
re-orienting your FOMA terminal depending on the screen that is
currently displayed.
Startup Guide
This application shows first-time users how to operate your FOMA
terminal and make settings.
It includes basic operation training, basic settings and a glossary.

When this application is activated, a large amount of content is
downloaded, and this might incur high packet transmission charges.
We strongly recommend subscribing to flat-rate packet services such
as "Pake-hodai double"

Home screen
The home screen is the start screen from which an application is
activated, and can be called up by pressing

.
On a home screen, up to nine screens can be set by a combination of
My Palette, on which applications and widgets can be freely arranged,
and palettes (stationary widgets). You can select these screens by
sliding the home screen to the left and right.

The number and position of currently set home screens is displayed
as icons.

Tap to select the palette.

At purchase, the following applications and widgets are set on your
FOMA terminal:
My Palette 1: Quick Search Box, docomo market,

Tap to display the menu of applications currently registered on your
FOMA terminal.

Palette display area
At purchase, Calculator, STARMEMO, Tweets, Calendar, and News
RSS Reader are set. Also available are Common Items, Common
sites, Friends, Bookmarks, Call History, Messages, E-mail, Pictures,
and mixi.

by the following operation.

Calling up the application menu from a home screen
You can activate applications registered on your FOMA terminal or
change the settings on your FOMA terminal from home screens.
