Appendix G Using the Optional HCF Unit
The optional high capacity feeder (HCF) unit enables loading of up to
2000 sheets of paper of A4 or letter size. It can be attached to the printer
directly, or be installed together with the 500-sheet paper feeder.
However, when the large capacity paper feeder (HCF unit) is installed,
only one 500-sheet paper feeder can be attached to the printer.
Caution:
• Before installing or removing the HCF, be sure to turn the
power switch of the printer off, to prevent the danger of
electric shock.
• This printer is very heavy. The weight of the main unit with-
out paper cassette, consumables, and paper is about 26
kg. Never attempt to lift the printer by yourself. The printer
should always be lifted by two persons.
• To lift the printer, have two persons facing each other from
the front (with operation panel) and the rear of the printer.
Grasp the four bottom corners. Never try to lift the printer
while holding any part other than the bottom corners. Oth-
erwise there is a severe risk of injury if the printer is
dropped.
• When lifting the printer, correct posture is important to pre-
vent hip injuries.
