Appendix B Options and Consumables
This section describes available options and consumables used by the
printer. To order any of these, please contact the dealer where you pur-
chased your printer.
Consumables
* EP cartridge (20,000 sheets)
Two types of EP cartridges are available: one capable of printing about
8,000 sheets and the other about 17,000 sheets of A4 size paper. (The
first cartridge supplied with the printer has a capacity of 8,000 sheets.)
This number refers to a coverage of 5% of the page, with print density set
to the lowest level. When printing graphics or text that covers more than
5% of the page, the number of sheets that can be printed with one car-
tridge will be less.
When the toner in the EP cartridge runs low, printing will become very
light and blanks may occur. In this case, replace the EP cartridge with a
new one. For details on how to replace the cartridge, see “2.2 Installing
the EP Cartridge” and “3.2 Replacing the EP Cartridge”.
BTR roller
The BTR roller is used for transferring toner onto the paper, and should
be replaced after printing of 200,000 sheets. However, depending on the
operating conditions, the roller may have to be replaced before that num-
ber is reached. For details on how to replace the BTR roller, see “3.3
Replacing the BTR Roller”.
