6. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the re-

verse gear switch and the optional starter lock

switch (if installed). Mark with a paint pen for

ease of installation.

WARNING

Do not press down on the clutch pedal after re-

moving the slave cylinder. Hydraulic brake ﬂuid

may squirt out, causing personal injury and dam-

age to the vehicle.

7. Remove the bolts that attach the clutch slave

cylinder to the mounting ﬂange on the gear case.

Move the slave cylinder out of the way. See

Fig. 8.
