Forward Delay

In the Forward Delay text box, enter the number of seconds for the Bridge
Forward Delay.
l The Forward Delay time is the time spent in each of the Listening and
Learning states before the Forward state is entered.
l When a new bridge comes onto a busy network, this delay time allows the
bridge to analyze the data traffic before participating in the network.
Priority text box In the Priority text box, enter the bridge priority number.
l The bridge priority aids in preventing looping in the networking scheme.
l The default priority for switches is 32768.
l In STP, the method of determining the root bridge is based on the bridge
priority. (BID).
l The number 32768 represents the default bridge priority value in bits.
A smaller number has a greater priority than a larger number.
