8. Release Notes
These sections describe the additions, changes, and known limitations in each software version
for the LRS455 Wireless Data Radio. The most recent version is listed first.
The latest firmware and software versions and the most recent list of known limitations and
workarounds are available on support.freewave.com.
8.1. Version 1.79
Release Date: July 2018
Additions and Changes
l Fixed TX waveform for 2GFSK mode to have more margin with the mask.
l Fixed TX waveform for 4GFSK mode to have more margin with the mask.
l Adjusted 4GFSK RX thresholds with new waveform to improve sensitivity.
Known Limitations and Workarounds
l 4GFSK (data rate setting of 4) data rate is not OTA backwards compatible with all prior
firmware versions.
l 2GFSK (data rate setting of 5) data rate is backwards compatible with prior firmware
versions.
l OTA does not pass through Repeaters nor does it update the Repeater.
l In networks with a Repeater, for an OTA upgrade, the Endpoints should be updated from
the Repeater and then the remaining network from there.
l Repeater and Gateways should be updated locally when updating Endpoints OTA.
