To adjust the foot plaorm angle:
1.Turn the adjustment screw to raise or lower the front of the foot plaorm.
To adjust the foot plaorm height:
1. Loosen the adjustment screw on the pipe.(See gure 26).
2. Raise or lower the foot plaorm to the desired height.
3. Tighten the adjustment screw to secure the plaorm posion.
To adjust the foot plaorm distance:
1. Loosen the knob which is fastened on the pipe.(See gure 26).
2. Slide the foot plaorm in or out to the desired distance.
3. Tighten the knob to secure the foot plaorm.
POSITIONING BELT
Your power chair is equipped with a posioning belt that can be adjusted for operator comfort. (See
gure 27). The posioning belt is designed to support the operator so that person does not slide down
or forward in the seat. The posioning belt is not designed for use as a restraining device.
To adjust the posioning belt for operator comfort:
1. Once seated, inset the metal tab on one side of the belt into the plasc housing on the opposite side
unl you hear a click.
2. Pull the excess strap aached to the metal tab unl it is secure, but not so ght as to cause
discomfort.
To release the posioning belt:
1. Press the push buon mechanism on the plasc housing.
MANDATORY!
Make sure the posioning belt is properly secured to the power chair and is
adjusted for operator comfort before each use.

Inspect the posioning belt for loose or damaged
parts before each use of the power chair. If you
discover a problem, contact your authorized
agent for maintenance and repair.

BATTERIES AND C H A R G ING
BATTERIES AND CHARGING
Your 168-W is equipped with two maintenance free 50-volt baeries, deep-cycle baeries. Since they
are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (uid) level. Deep-cycle baeries are designed to
handle a longer and deeper discharge. Though they are similar in appearance to automove baeries,
they are not interchangeable. Automove baeries are not designed to handle a long, deep discharge,
and also are unsafe for use in power chairs.
MANDATORY!
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead
compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling baeries and wash hands aer handling.
PROHIBITED!
Always use two baeries of the exact same type, chemistry, and amp-hour (Ah)
capacity. Refer to the specicaons table in this manual and in the manual supplied with the baery
charger for recommended type and capacies.
WARNING!
Contact your Authorized Freerider Agent if you have any quesons regarding the
baeries in your power chair.
Charging the Baeries
The battery charger is essential in providing long life for your power chair batteries. It is designed
