Scooter
transmission
is
filled
with
a
special
lubricant
Do not
attempt
to for
ce grease
into
the
transmission
as
this will
contaminate the
original l ubrication
and
will
invalidate
your
guarantee
Caution:
T
a
k
e
care when
lifting the
transmission,
k
eep
well
away
fr
om clothing.
It
is
normal
to
find
a
light
film
of lu brication ar
ound this
part.
The bearings
ar
e
adjusted
by
first
r
eleasing
th e
locking
nut
anti-clockwise
one
full
turn with
a
suitable spa nner (F
ig.
31).
T
urn
the upper
beari ng
adjustment
nut
clockwise,
one
flat
at
a
time
until
all
of
the
up
and
down
movement
in
the
handle
bars
is
r
emoved.
R
etighten the
lock
nut
clockwis e
into
position with
a
second spanner
.
Do
not
overtighten
the
beari ng
adjustment
nut,
as
this
will
damage
the
beari ng
tracks (F
ig
31)
The handle bar bearings
ar
e
NOT
‘Sealed
for
life’
and may
require lubrication with
a general
purpose bearing
grease
on
an annual
basis.

Brak
e:
If
the
motor
brak
e
is
functioning
cor
rectly
and
the drive
is
engaged
you will
not
be
able
to
push
your
machine when
it
is switc hed
off
Or
switched
on
with
the
speed
contro l
lev e r
in
the
‘zero
speed’, central
position
If
your
machine can b e pushed
as
described
above,
the
motor
brak
e
could
be
faulty
.

drive

reerider
Scooter

you let
go
of
the
sp eed
control
lev e r
your
Scooter
should reduce
speed very
quickly
If
you notice
a
change
in
the normal slowi ng/braking
condition,
and
your
Scooter
does
not
slow down quickly
,
please
do not
use
your
machine, contact
your

HANDLE
BAR
BEARINGS
The bearings
which
control
th e movement
of
the
steering
handle bar
m ay
need
to
be
adjusted
if
up
and
down
movement
is
noticed
in
your
steering handle bars.
The bearings
ar
e accessed
by
lifting
the
back
rubber
cover at
the
base
of
your
handle
bars
and
the
front
body
cover
.

Using
a
suitable
body
stand,
lift
the
side
of
the
vehicle
you
wish
to
service
off
the
ground
Place
the stand under
the
m e tal
chassis
Care
must
be taken when
lifting
heavy
loads,
you
may
need
a
friend
to
help
you
Ca re
should
also be taken when
working
on
a
stand,
please be safe.
Do not
lift
by
the
plastic
bo dywork.
