1  L a y batter y onto a soft non-metallic surface  F it the longest
part of the car r y strap with the handle loop around the
side of the batter y

The batter y terminals will be
located on the side at the top F asten strap through
buckle and velcro
®
together

2  W ith batter y turned on it’s bottom, fasten shorter part of
strap around the batter y ; pass strap through the buckle
and fasten
together (Fig 16] See also batter y installation
on page 20 

Y our batteries are located under the rear cover positioned
below your seat  The two batteries are secured to the Scooter
frame by velcro
®
hold down straps  Each strap passes from
the chassis anchor point, around the batter y and through a
metal loop positioned on the seat mounting post  The strap is
fastened
tightly , and simply locks together via a velcro
®
adhesive technique (see F ig 17 and F ig 18]

Drive your Scooter close to the vehicle into which you are
about to load it  Y ou may need some assistance to lift the
components once
your machine is dismantled 
1  Switch off your scooter  F irst remove the seat by releasing
the ‘ black’ locking lever

R otate the seat 90˚ to the right
or left, lift the seat upwards slightly twisting  This will
release it from its mounting tube (Fig 1, page 6] 
2  Lift up the rear cover , disconnect the rear light plug and
sock
et (Fig 19], place safely to one side  Note the cover
is secured by velcro® type material at each side at the
front and in the centre  The rear cover can be
repositioned once the batteries are removed  Unfasten the
batter y locating straps (Fig 17 - 18] by parting the
velcro® fastening
3  Ba ttery Plugs: Disconnect the two ‘ black’ shrouded

apart  These plugs are polarized and can only be fitted
together one way

Do not for ce together when re-
assembling (Fig 20]
4  Carefully lift up each batter y with the black strap
provided  Use two hands for this operation, one on the
strap
and one to steady the batter y (Fig 21]
Note: Mak e certain that the car r y strap is fastened tightly
prior to lifting the batter y  Place the batteries on a firm and
safe surface  Y our batteries are sealed and cannot spill if
tipped over  Always car r y the batteries upright 
Warning: Do not place metal objects over open batter y
terminals  BEW ARE of short cir cuits  Mak e certain the
terminals
are covered by the red and black plastic protectors at
all
times 
5  Lift the front wire bask et from the mounting brack et
on the handlebar cover , you will note this mounts on
three clips (Fig 22, page 18]
