At events and on airports, attendees or passengers
are checked for suspicious metal objects.
If you want to emulate this task with the Franzis metal
detector, you should turn the sensitivity control close to
the le stop. The required time for an individual frequency
measurement is thus very short. This way you can search
a person rapidly.
Cable locator
You can also use the Franzis metal detector to locate
electric wiring and metal water pipes in walls and floors.
For this task it is mostly favorable to set the detector to a
medium sensitivity. However, due to the planar extent of
the search coil it may be difficult to achieve a precise local-
ization to the centimeter. If in doubt, you should check the
result by means of another cable locator.
