Metal Detector
Turning knob
The turning knob allows you to adjust the sensitivity of
the metal detector gradually and within certain limits.
When you turn the knob during operation, the piezo
speaker falls silent. Both LEDs light up, and aer a short
pause, the piezo speaker emits the initialization tone se-
quence. The LEDs go out, and the speaker emits again the
rhythmic clicking sound. The shorter the period between
two clicks, the more insensitive is the metal detector.
Jumpers
Jumper J1 on the circuit board allows for adjusting
the basic sensitivity of the metal detector. You achieve the
highest sensitivity by opening the jumper. When you close
J1, the sensitivity is reduced by one step. If you repeatedly
get false readings, you can fix this error by inserting J1.
Jumper J2 affects the automatic frequency correction
(see page 67). By removing this jumper you can further in-
crease the sensitivity of the metal detector. However, this
may lead to an increase in false readings. In most cases it
is sufficient to operate the device with activated frequency
correction (jumper J2 inserted).
Insert and remove jumpers only when the device is
turned off!
