3 Operation and Functional Principle

Battery

Connect the battery clip to a 9V battery. Attach the

battery ﬁrmly to a convenient location inside the box using

(double-sided) adhesive tape.

Switch-on

When you switch on the detector, there should be no

metal objects near the search coil.

Switch on the metal detector and set the turning knob

to a center position.

Both LEDs light up. The piezo speaker plays a tone

sequence (initialization routine). Then the LEDs go out.

You can only hear a rhythmic clicking noise from the piezo

speaker. When the search coil comes near to a metal ob-

ject, one of the LEDs is turned on, and the piezo speaker

emits a signal. The nearer the search coil comes to the

object, the higher is the frequency of the tone.

Important:

The jumpers J1 and J2 must be closed.
