Potentiometer
Next, you attach the potentiometer. Insert it into the
designated opening in the flap lid. A small clip prevents you
to insert it the wrong way. Fix the potentiometer with ring
nut and washer. Turn the axis to the le until the switch
opens, which is indicated by a low clicking noise. Aer that
you use the grub screw to attach the turning knob to the
potentiometer so that the marker points to OFF.
Attach the circuit board to the flap lid so that the com-
ponent side faces inwards. The LEDs soldered to the circuit
board are pushed through the two 5mm holes in the flap lid.
In this way the circuit board is fixed to the lid. If this fixation
is not sufficient, you can attach the LEDs with a little all-
purpose glue. Also, you can additionally fix the board with
(double-sided) adhesive tape.
Now you connect the leads of the potentiometer with
the respective soldering pads. For this purpose you use
short pieces of hookup wire. Strip the ends of the wire ac-
cordingly. Alternatively you can also use bare pieces of wire.
The leads of the switch integrated in the potentiometer are
soldered to the pads S1 and S2, the proper potentiometer
leads to the pads P1, P2 and P3.
