The figure in the symbol is designed to indicate the relative flow rate performance for each tap. The rate is graded 1-8 where 1 is poor and 8 is excellent. Relative flow rates are only likely to be relevant in
installations with a low head of water (below 4 metres) or low cold supply pressure. In either case you would be well advised to consult your supplier or installer.
