6. Ascertain the weight of the mail item by either:
a) Pressing the appropriate weight key (weight lim-
it, for example, 17 g).
b) If scales are connected: putting the mail item on-
to the scales (the weight appears next to the
scales symbol) and then pressing the scales
symbol.
That’s all. The postal rate will appear and you can frank the mail item.
4.3.4. Numeric keypad
Postage rates can be entered independently of the mail
products using the integrated numeric keypad.
The numeric keypad is included in the Tariff-guided start
menu. You reach it by pressing three times to the franking
value.
Enter the postage value required using the keypad. Con-
firm the value by pressing OK. Assign the amount to a
category. You can begin franking once the Ready prompt appears.
The numeric keypad cannot be defined as the start menu.
4.3.5. Postage scales and weight pop-up
There are a number of ways of determining the precise weight of the mail item using S2, S5 or S30
scales.
You can use the scales at any time in the One Touch menu or the detailed overview. Place the item
to be weighed on the scales. The weight pop-up appears. Touch the pop-up to use the item weight
displayed to calculate the exact postage charge.
Tip
If the weight causes an attribute to change, the corresponding key will flash to alert you to
the new value.
