Open PDFs on OpenText Documentum
1. Click File > Open > Add a place > Documentum. Before using Foxit PDF Editor to
open PDFs on OpenText Documentum, you are required to install DFC Client in
your system if you haven’t.
2. Log in to your OpenText Documentum account.
3. (Optional) If you have logged in before, the Documentum item will be listed
under the Open menu. Then click File > Open > Documentum > Open.
4. After you sign in successfully, the Documentum context tab appears on the
ribbon. Click Open in the tab.
5. In the Open dialog box, select the document you want to open, and click Open.
By default, the PDF document will be locked for editing while you open a PDF file
which has not been checked out with Foxit PDF Editor. Then make your edits as
needed with advanced tool in Foxit PDF Editor. If you do not want to lock it,
uncheck the Locked file for editing option in the Open dialog box.
Save
To save a locked PDF document, you can choose to replace the original document in
the OpenText Documentum, or save it as a new version, a new sub-version, or a new
document.
1. After modification, go to File > Save As, click the Documentum item listed under
the Save As menu and then click Save As. Or click Documentum > Save As > Save
As.
2. In the Save As dialog box:
Choose New Version/ New Sub-version/ New Document: the modified
document will be saved as a new version/sub-version/document, leaving the
original document unchanged.
Choose Replace Original: the modified document will overwrite the original
document in Documentum.
You can save a local PDF document as a new document or a new version to the
Documentum. Save the changes you made in the document and then do the following:
To save as a new document, go to File > Save As, click the Documentum item
listed under the Save As menu and then click Save As. Or click Documentum >
Save As > Save As. Then type the document name as needed and click Save.
To save as a new version or sub-version, click Documentum > Save As > Save As
Repository Version. In the Save As dialog box, select New Version or New Sub-
version, and click OK. Select a document in Documentum to save the local PDF
document as a new version or sub-version of the document.
