Convert PDFs to standard-compliant PDFs (Pro only)
With Foxit PDF Editor Pro, you can convert PDFs as PDF/A, PDF/E, or PDF/X files if they
are compliant with the specified requirements. There are three methods you can use
to convert PDFs to standard-compliant PDFs: the Standards wizard (i.e. the
Standards tab in the Preflight dialog box), a preflight profile, and the Save As
command. The Standards wizard contains detailed information on PDF/A, PDF/E, or
PDF/X standards and you can follow the onscreen instructions to complete the
conversion. If you are familiar with standards, you can use the other two methods.
Convert to PDF/A, PDF/E, or PDF/X using the Standards wizard
1. Click Convert > Preflight.
2. Click the Standards tab in the Preflight dialog box.
3. Select the standard you want to convert to, and click Continue.
4. Select a desired version of the selected standard, and click Continue. (Or click
Back to return to the previous step.)
5. Select other options as appropriate, and click Save as…. (Or click Back to return
to the previous step.)
6. Specify the filename and location for the output file and click Save in the pop-up
Save As dialog box.
If the conversion succeeds, a green check mark appears at the top of the Results tab
in the Preflight dialog box, with detailed information below; if the conversion fails, a
red X appears with the detailed information in the Results tab of the Preflight dialog
box.
Convert to PDF/A, PDF/E, or PDF/X using a preflight profile
1. Click Convert > Preflight.
2. Click the Profile tab in the Preflight dialog box.
3. Choose the profile you need from the compliance profile groups, and click Analyze
and fix.
4. Specify the filename and location for the output file and click Save in the pop-up
Save As dialog box.
If the conversion succeeds, a green check mark appears at the top of the Results tab
in the Preflight dialog box, with detailed information below; if the conversion fails, a
red X appears with the detailed information in the Results tab of the Preflight dialog
box.
