1. Package Contents Thank you for purchasing the FortiGate 60C. The FortiGate 60C multi-threat security appliance offers you unmatched performance, flexibility, and security for your remote, branch, or small office network.
2. Connecting Your Device 2 1 CONSOLE DC+12V USB MGMT USB DMZ WAN2 WAN1 5 4 3 2 1 4 3 3 Ensure the FortiGate unit is placed on a stable surface. Connect the following to the FortiGate unit: 1 Insert an Ethernet cable into the port labeled WAN1. 2 Insert the other end of your Ethernet cable to your Internet connection. 3 Connect an Ethernet cable to each workstation or laptop PC you wish to connect to the FortiGate unit.
3. FortiExplorer FortiExplorer is a software tool you can use to configure your FortiGate unit. You can use it to configure your admin password, network settings and to register your unit with Fortinet. You can also access the web-based manager and the command line interface (CLI). Note: When using FortiExplorer for the first time, ensure the FortiGate unit is using its default settings. If the unit needs to reverted to the default settings, press the Reset button for a few seconds.
4. Configuration Options Configuration Using the FortiExplorer Wizard The FortiExplorer Installation Wizard provides easy-to-follow instructions for configuring the FortiGate unit on your network. 1 Log in to the FortiExplorer authentication screen. The default credentials are: Username: admin Password: none 2 Set your administrator password. 3 Follow the remaining steps in the Wizard to set up your device. 4 Register your device with Fortinet. 5 Click Finish to save your settings to the unit.

7. Register Your Product If you did not register your product using the FortiExplorer wizard, please register your product now.
8. Cautions and Warnings Please review the following cautions and warnings. Environmental specifications Operating temperature: Refer to the product datasheet If you install your Fortinet product in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient temperature. Therefore, make sure to install the equipment in an environment compatible with the manufacturer’s maximum rated ambient temperature.
