THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING SEAT BELTS
Seat belts must be worn by all
vehicle occupants to be properly
restrained and help reduce the risk
of injury in a collision. Wearing a
seat belt will:
• help keep you in the proper
position when the air bags inflate,
• reduce the risk of harm in
rollover, side, or rear impact
collisions,
• reduce the risk of harm in frontal
collisions that are not severe
enough to activate the air bags,
• reduce the risk of being thrown
from your vehicle.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING PROPERLY SEATED
In a collision, the air bags must
inflate extremely quickly and with
considerable force.
If you are too close to an
inflating air bag, it could
seriously injure you. Move your
seat as far back as practical to
allow room for air bag inflation.
