In these conditions, you can do the
following to help keep your windshield
clear:
• Lower the sensitivity of the autowipers.
• Change the wiper speed to normal or
high speed wipe as necessary.
• Switch the autowipers off.
Maximum autowipeA
OnB
Minimum autowipeC
The wipers will function when water is
detected on the windshield. The rain
sensor will continue to monitor the amount
of water on the windshield and adjust the
speed of the wipers automatically. This
feature can be switched on or off in the
information display. See General
Information (page 63).
Note: When you switch this feature off, the
wipers will return to the variable intermittent
setting based on the sensitivity you have
set.
Use the rotary control to adjust the
sensitivity of the rain sensor. On minimum
autowipe, the wipers will operate when the
sensor detects a large amount of water on
the windshield. On maximum autowipe,
the wipers will operate when the sensor
detects a small amount of water on the
windshield.
Keep the outside of the windshield clean.
Sensor performance will be affected if the
area around the interior mirror is dirty. The
rain sensor is very sensitive and the wipers
may operate if dirt, mist or flies hit the
windshield.
WINDSHIELD WASHERS
Note: Do not operate the washers when
the washer reservoir is empty. This may
cause the washer pump to overheat.
Push the button to operate the washers.
When you release the button, the wipers
will operate for a short time.
