Sometimes when you work with a glyph it’s helpful to mark particular
positions and refer to them later. In FontLab you can use a special editing
layer called Anchors to do this. Anchors are simply named points that you
can add, remove, move or rename. A special property of anchors is that you
can use them in macro programs and in the automatic glyph construction
feature.
To add an anchor, right-click anywhere in the empty space of the editing
field and select the Add Anchor command in the popup menu:
You will see a new anchor (by default it is a small red cross) and an editing
field asking you to enter a name for the anchor:
Name the anchor and click the ENTER key to complete.
