Global Hinting Parameters
Some additional data may be set to control the hinting process:
FB threshold ForceBold threshold – this parameter is used only in Multiple
Master font and controls when the Force Bold parameter is ON in an
intermediate design
BlueScale
Controls PPM when overshoot depression is switched off
BlueShift
Gives more precise control over overshoot description (see below)
BlueFuzz
Expands alignment zones in both directions

Blu eScale is the PPM size at wh ich overshoot suppression is s witche d off. If
PPM is le ss tha n Blue Scale, then oversh oot su ppress ion is applied. If it is equal
to or exc eeds B lueSca le, overshoot suppression work s only if th e distance from
the aligned point to the ba se line of the alignment zone is les s than the
Blu eShift val ue and the s caled distance is less then ha lf of a pixe l.
