In FontLab you can open many fonts at once. Since every font has its own
Font window sometimes the FontLab workspace becomes so crowded with
windows that finding a particular font is not easy. This section will explain
how to use FontLab tools that are specially designed to help you manage
many open fonts simultaneously.
To open many fonts you can use the standard File > Open command,
then select many font files using
CTRL and SHIFT-click in the File Open
dialog box. You can also select font files in Windows Explorer and drag
them to the FontLab window – all of them will be opened.
When you open 15 fonts the FontLab window might look like this:
Which is not the best way to work. Add to this picture a few open Glyph
and Metrics windows and you will see why workspace management is
necessary.
