REFER TO THE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOUND IN
SECTION 21.1
• Always keep the pistol in immaculate condition and good working order.
Always clean and lubricate the pistol after use.
Regularly inspect the pistol, its parts and accessories.
19. ACCESSORIES
19.1. INTERCHANGEABLE BACKSTRAPS
BEFORE CHANGING BACKSTRAPS, MAKE SURE THE PISTOL
IS COMPLETELY UNLOADED (SECTION 16). ALWAYS KEEP
THE MUZZLE POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION AND, IF SO
EQUIPPED PLACE THE MANUAL SAFETY IN THE ON SAFE
POSITION. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
In order to optimize grip on the pistol as a function of the ergonomics of
the shooter, two backstraps, (flat and arched) may be supplied (Figure 25).
One backstrap is installed on the pistol at the factory. The backstrap can be
replaced on the FNS and FNS Longslide as follows:
1. Insert a

16" punch or other
small instrument into the hole in
the backstrap and gently push
inward to release the backstrap
retainer (Figure 26, page 40).
2. Maintain light pressure on the
punch and slide the backstrap
downward, off the grip (Figure 27,
page 40).
